Το playlist που διέρρευσε αποτελείται από 86 τραγούδια, που δεν έχουν ακόμη επιβεβαιωθεί πως θα παίξουν όλα στην «βουκολική» (διαβάστε περισσότερα εδώ) τελετή έναρξης των Ολυμπιακών Αγώνων, για την οποία ο Μπόιλ διαβεβαίωσε τις οργανώσεις που εξέφρασαν τις ανησυχίες τους για την κακοποίηση των ζώων που θα περιλαμβάνει, πως έχουν ληφθεί όλα τα μέτρα για τη σωστή μεταχείριση τους.
Σε κάθε περίπτωση, όμως, από τους Beatles μέχρι τους Coldplay και από τους Soul II Soul μέχρι τον Ντέιβιντ Μπόουι, η ιστορία της βρετανικής μουσικής θα ντύσει το όραμα του Μπόιλ, σε μια λίστα που προκαλεί ήδη αντιδράσεις.
Πρώτον γιατί μέσα της περιέχεται το «God Save the Queen» των Sex Pistols - φανταστείτε το πρόσωπο της βασίλισσας τη στιγμή που θα ακούγεται από τα μεγάφωνα! - που μοιάζει να προσβάλλει ακόμη το κοινό αίσθημα των Βρετανών και δευτερευόντως γιατί από τη λίστα απουσιάζουν μερικές σταθερές της βρετανικής σημαίας όπως ο Ελτον Τζον, ο Πολ ΜακΚάρτνεϊ, ο Τομ Τζόουνς, ο Ρόμπι Γουίλιαμς και άλλοι.
