“Fish N’ Chips” continues its steady course through festival waters, adding two new stops (Belgium and Sofia) along the way. Made with tender loving care, this feel-good dramedy certainly begs some international attention.
“Fish N’ Chips” first entered the festival circuit by way of the Montreal World Film Festival in August of last year. Since then, it has made several stops along the way, including Athens (17th Athens International Film Festival – Opening Nights), Montpelier (33rd Cinemed Mediterranean Film Festival), Toronto (where it won the 7th European Union Film Festival’s third audience award ), Vancouver, Beirut, Tallinn, Heidelberg and more.
Right now, “Fish N’ Chips” is screening in competition at the 16th Sofia International Film Festival and will soon be smooching audiences at the 28th Mons International Love Film Festival in yet another competition slot.
“Fish N’ Chips”, a Cypriot-Greek co-production, tells the story of Andy, a hard-working fish n’ chip man deep frying his way into oblivion in dreary London. Making a sudden decision to grab life by the horns, he moves back to his native Cyprus to open up his own establishment. But little does he know, that his dream is about to turn into a nightmare.
