Devoted to short and medium-length films by new directors, the Locarno Film Festival’s Pardi di Domani section hopes to become a platform for discovering new talent. The section focuses on independent productions from around the world by directors that have not yet completed feature-length films.
Among this year’s selection we find the Greek-German co-production of Horsefly Productions and DetailFilm ‘II’, directed by Efthimis Kosemund Sanidis.
An old man, dressed as a groom is walking towards his bride, who is waiting for him in the distance. They meet, but the distance between them begins to grow once again.
Efthimis Kosemund Sanidis began his career working with computers instead of cameras. Earlier on in his life he had played basketball professionally and traveled the world. He has worked in Greece, Germany and France, made music videos and experimental videos and has also participated in the Berlin and Sarajevo Talent Campuses. At the 2011 Sarajevo International Film Festival, he won first prize in the ‘Pack & Pitch’ program for ‘II’.
At the moment, Efthimis Kosemund Sanidis is completing his post-graduate studies at France’s Le Fresnoy and is developing his first feature length film.
The 67th Locarno Film Festival will take place August 6-16.
